10 gallon newbie

I have a ten gallon freshwater tank.

It looks like there is nothing in there. Hmm. I like the look of it, though. Neons would look good.

I think I made a mistake.
The two plants are Argentine sword (Echinodorus argentinesis) and Peacock fern (selaginella wildenowii). After doing some searches on this site I think the Peacock fern is not aquatic. I set the tank up a week ago and the peacock and sword plants seem to be doing well. Is the peacock aquatic? I am a total newbie so any help would be greatly appreciated.

HI

I started the tank today.
10 ghost shrimp and 6 neon tetras.
2 shrimp died within an hour of getting into the tank. All else are doing fine.

I have a ten gallon and use fake plants and hate that I cant find anything realistic. I am scared to try with the real plants. I have tetras and cories in mine and some caves.
