10 gallon stocking!

Enjoy the eclipse although I think it will cause some chaos when it reaches 6". I think the system of adding a random fish every once in awhile to a 10 gallon community tank will eventually overstock it. And many community tank fish are schooling so one fish at a time is not recommended :(

I will make sure I don't overstock, I've had a small community 10 gallon in the past, it was my first tank :)

I had 2 glass catfish
2 harlequin rasboras
1 hatchet fish
A few x-ray tetras

thats overstocked and all of those fish needed schools.

I'm starting it off with my Betta (named Nama) and 2 long finned-tetras

Im going to keep the eclipse in there for a week or two. (while I get my cichlids re-homed)

I'm not getting those again, I honestly know NOTHING about any fish. All I had for them was a filter and gravel, no light except the light from the room.

I will try to be better with my stockings, I will probably get some celestial pearl danios

I doubt that "eclipse catfish" is going to work well in a 20gal for very long, especially if you are trying to make it a community tank. And keeping it in a 5.5 for a "few days" hardly qualifies as a QT if you're attempting to go that route.
 
quarentine should be atleast 2 weeks with 4 being better. putting a fish in a tank for a couple of days wont do anything.
