does anyone have a 10 gallon sw tank. i am thinking of try one but i have never done salt water. how hard would this be. and where to start?

I have a 10 gallon saltwater tank. They are nanos and are considered the hardest size tank to keep. Due to the small water volume changes can affect the tank very quickly and can ruin everything. It is easier to keep and maintain a tank of larger water volume. To start, get all your equipment set up and test it, then add your live rock, water, then sand. Then your tank should take about a month to cycle.

I am just shy of 10 gals, mine is 7 Uk gals...You can only really get away with one fish realistically in a tank of this size unless you filter it well...Personaly, i would stick to one..

I have a ten gallon tank and it has been a great introduction to saltwater!! It takes alot of work, i change 20% of the water every Saturday, and i think that has saved me times when i may have messed up. I have a Yellow clown goby, and a yellowtail damsel. Recently i've added a clownfish and a yashia goby, but it's only temporary.
If you are thinking of starting your own ten gallon, i can't give much advice, I think i did alot of things wrong, and the only thing that saved me is that i changed out 20% every week.

You are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overstocked!!!!!!

Its actually not as hard as people like to say. I think if you have had great sucess with freshwater tanks (especially planted) and are good about planning ahead then you should be fine.
Here are some boards that address a new 10G setup:

I found those boards answer a lot of common questions new reefers ask.
Feel free to ask any other questions :)
