Recently I got a 3-gallon Eclipse tank for my desk at work. I put in 2 African Dwarf Frogs and a bamboo shrimp. It's pretty heavily planted w/ around 7 various plants. It has a smaller gravel substrate. The temperature runs around 78 to 80 degrees throughout the day. I have a 25w thermometer in it, but it hardly every runs... I set it to 75 degrees. The water stays warm like that naturally, I guess.
I have decided the frogs don't have enough space. I'm going to upgrade to a 10 gallon tank. I plan to keep it well planted but not as dense as the current tank (might leave open areas with heavily planted corners). I also plan to change up the substrate. I'll get some laterite and the current gravel and use it as a first level which I will cover with some kind of sand (suggestions? I want a white one).
Is there any fish that fits the following requirements:
1. Can live in 10 gallons
2. Digs in sand substrate (I want him basically to keep the sand mobile for me)
3. Is peaceful and won't eat 1.5" frogs
4. Can handle tropical 78-80 degree heated water
THANKS!
