10-gallon Tank Questions...

I have a 10-gallon tank in my room, (UGF and a really too big airrator, turbulance slowed by a piece of plexiglass... and a carbon air-pump on the other end) with a single betta in it. What fish, if any, could be put in with it? I have had the betta in there for a month and a half, but I had two males, separated by a piece of plexiglass, in there for a month before I took it out (put it in the Family's 29 gal). The Betta seems aweful lonely, though it swims around very randomly around the tank. Any suggestions?

Also:
I have Hot Pink rocks on the bottom, and one day they were a dark brown...I used the gravel cleaner on it and it went back to normal...any diagnosis?

I also have one more question:
Any tips on keeping the Algae down in the tank? I have green and brown varieties in my tank...

hmmm....whatever you decide make sure that your betta wouldnt confuse it for another betta....like nothing with long flowy fins.

Get like 2 otocinculus (sp?) for the algae problem.

In a ten, I probably would get tetras or something... Everything i can think of won't work...

example:
If u got puffers, they would shred ur betta's fins off,
Tiger barbs would eat its fins, too
Butterfly fish are also top-dwellers and would fight with the betta
and the list goes on

In my 10 gallon tank...

I have 14 mollies and 1 plecostomas. This has worked for about 6 months. I'm using an undergravel and outside filter with water changes.

Everybody appears to be doing okay, but in the last couple of weeks the pleco has become very aggressive.

The tank is too crowded. I need to do something with the extra mollies.

Oh well...
Fat, dumb and happy in Plano!

Evreything in my tank list below all live with my betta.
They only one ya might want to watch is the sailfin molly (high fin might **** the betta off)

And i second 2 the otto's for the algae.

Oh and no Pictus Cat either hell get to big for a 10G hell might get to big for my 20g

Would Neons work? I have a soft spot for neons...

5 neons woudl be fine but I would stop at that. The otto cats would also be good. Or 3 cory cats. Any of those choices would be good.

14 mollies and a pleco is just far too overcrowded and is not doing the fish any good. A pleco can and should grow to be 14-18 inches long which is far too big for anything less than a 75 gallon tank unless you have a special variety.
