I have started breeding blue and ivory brig snails and need a new tank to house the babies in. I would prefer at least ten gallons but more is always better. I am in Peoria, Illinois.

Check your LFS 10gal tanks are only like $7 each. I highly doubt you'll find a used one any cheaper than that.

Jodi,
I would also check chicago.craigslist.org. People from all over Illinois post things in the sales section. I just bought a new 20 L but would have much rather bought a used one (environmentalist in me...) And wouldn't you know someone had one posted today for $20... BTW, how close is Peoria to Chicago? I might have a 10 gallon to give away. I haven't decided for sure to unload it though.
Take care,
Mary.

It's about 3 1/2 hours I think. I has been years since I've made the drive. Too far to drive for a 10g but I appreciate you sending me to craigslist. I will have to check there. Thanks!

Tai95, I am hoping to get the whole setup-lights, filter and all thats the only reason I posted. I am also hoping to get a larger than 10g tank, but we'll see.

Well it is garage sale season you should be able to find a fews tanks if you look. So far this year I've bought 3 10gal, 1 10gal long (old slate bottom tank) 2 5gal, and a 30 tall for like $20 at garage sales. Most of them had cheap hoods and filters with them as well. They are out there you just need to look.

Man are you lucky! I have been garage saleing for weeks, even looking in the paper for ones that specifically say aquarium..I even went to 2 flea markets and still have had no luck. I wish I had been as lucky as you!

LOL, someone gave me a 75 gallon this past spring with a stand. :) Now that is luck.

I did get lucky with my 55g. My parents had it and decided they wanted a fireplace instead of a fishtank and since my neice killed all of my brothers fish with dishsoap and milk, they decided I would be a better choice...plus the fact I called it when they bought it. ;) I know my parents tire of things fairly quickly. In this case I only had to wait 4 years
