I have a 10 gallon and I had it running saltwater but my clownfish recently died of ich. I don’t want to keep going with saltwater, I was thinking of doing 2 pea puffers. Any suggestions? I’m experienced in freshwater, I have a 55 gallon flowerhorn tank and a 5 gallon betta fish tank.

I think its a good option, plant it very well to help if they have territorial disputes, and it should be good for pea puffers...

Start on a food supply, you can easily get bladder snails and breed them in a small container with an airstone. Also frozen foods for them as well.

Other than that, you should be good

I’ve done a good amount of research and pea puffers don’t need snails to grind down their teeth. I’ve never done a planted tank, but I’ve looked into it. Any suggestions?

Nah i know peas dont *need* them but they may an easy live food that they enjoy. To add variety to their diet and to lessen up the expense of buying frozen food as often.

Plants... crypts are really good plants, id suggest them for a 10 as they dont grow huge. Crypt wendtii is a nice one. Maybe add some mosses and perhaps some anacharis. Java ferns would be nice as well

Is your plan to put two pea puffers in a 10gal?

Not nearly enough tank IMO.

Alright thanks, I’ve personally never grown plants but I have a friend who has 2 planted tanks and all she has is planted tank substrate. Any suggestions on that?
