10 Gallons of Stress

It would probably be best to re-home the blue cat...even a 75 will not work for long..maybe more like a custom 600-1000 gal tank with space for it to turn around...

Crapola, that's insane. If the numbers I'm being given here are correct and I don't doubt you guys, then this could very well be a bigger problem than even I'd anticipated.

Alright well I guess I'm going to have to look into relocating the blue channel then, I won't hold onto it simply to prolong the damage but seeing firsthand how incompetent my pet store is, I'll have to find a better place to place it. Knowing those guys they'll just sell him again to someone else unequipped to deal with his needs.

I honestly don't understand why they'd even sell them without informing the unsuspecting customers of the rammifications. When I visited the store yesterday there were 6 more in the 29 gallon display tank next to Tetras and Mollies.

Oh man, this is a disaster for the fish and the owner. I would just rehome all of your fish and start out fresh with smaller fish if you still want to keep fish..

I did some searching last night and the world record channel catfish is 58 lbs caught in s.c. and the world record blue cat is 124 lbs caught in Illinois on the mississippi. The n.c. records ( from the ncdnr) are 23 lbs 4 oz for channel cats and 89 lbs for blue cats.

I would try the classifieds here, you might be able to give some of those fish to members here with large tanks or ponds.
