10 lb co2 cylinder

Hey guys, what is the general price range you see listed for a 10lb co2 cylinder? Im looking at one from aquariumplants.com and a 10 pounder runs at $83.45 (shipping included). What are your thoughts / suggestions?

A guy on anpother forum went with that form the same site. They neglected to tell him until after he paid for it that ist on back order. He has been waiting for it since the beginning of december.

Check your local Airgas store (if you have them). You'll get a full 10 lb'er for a little less than the price you're quoting and get the convenience of a local outfit for refills.

Aquarium Plants.com has the best price on new aluminum cylinders. I searched for quite a while before I bought my 10# cylinder from them. There was one welding supply place that was close in price, but they seemed kinda sketchy.

None of my local places welder's or fire extinguisher supply sold new aluminum 10# cylinders. They only had 25# and larger for much more.

If you have a beer home brew type store in your area, check with them. They stock them to charge beer kegs and inject CO2 into home brew. Found one by accident there.

I bought a 10 pounder and wish I went to the local beer store and did a rental. There is only one place around me that refills on the spot. It will cost about the same to rent or buy, but the rentals you just walk in and exchange for a full one.
