Canisters all the way for the tank....C-530 or 2 C-360

Okay, I was told today that the tank is a 110 gallon. It's acrylic and the dimensions are 60"L x 18"D x 24"H. Is it a 110 gallon?

id run two large external canisters and a strong hang on back filter. im not sure on the cannisters but id do an AC110 for the HOB

Okay, my friend who is happily fueling my aquarium addiction is hooking me up with a couple of HOB filters w/ heaters in them, so that's two things down!

Yeah, I feel kind of dumb. I actually was just looking in the African cichlids forum and was wondering why mine weren't in there. I looked them up and found that out. Sorry, my mistake. Oh, and thanks for the link!

lighting can be as simple a shop lights from,LOWES,HOME DEPOT-Anne

Yes it's a 110 gallon tank. Given the size, you'll get much better performance from canister filters. Easy to add those when you can, along with the free HOBs you're starting with now. Many of us with larger tanks and messy fish run multiple filters.

Congrats on the new tank setup.

I found a cheap fluval 204 on craigslist. I'm picking it up today. I'm also going by a few big fish stores downtown and possibly octopuss's garden on wednesday. I hope to pick up everything I need (and some things I don't), but I'll probably end up spending more than I wanted to. Oh well.
