Hello, I'm new to freshwater. I have had saltwater aquariums for around 3 years. Wondering what to do with it. At first I was going to do German Blue Rams but then I found out it was a harder dwarf chicilid to keep. Then I looked at Dwarf Indian Pufferfish but I can't seem to find any here at local fish stores, but I guess I could order them. I kept a Porcupine Pufferfish and that was my favorite fish, I love their personality. I have it set up, used tap water and figured the bad chemicals would be evaporated out and a buddy said distilled water doesn't have any chemicals at all which is not good. I've used drinking water and distilled water as a top off, but I could use tap water for a top off if it is a good idea. I have an 18w fluorescent on there with a Marineland Penguin 150 BioWheel as filter/flow. I have river rocks as gravel. Need stocking list ideas and corrections if I'm doing something wrong.

tap water should be fine, but i would recommend using a good water conditioner like Prime to condition it. Do you have a freshwater test kit? Is the tank cycled yet?
You have alot of choices for stocking. Any inclination to adding live plants?

No freshwater test kit. I got a sw test kit I used once. May need to go and swing by Petsmart sometime and get one. Maybe pick up a conditioner like you recommended also. I haven't used anything to cycle the tank but the water seems a lot denser then when I started it up. I want to add some live plants. The lights aren't that great so I'll angle the blinds to let sunlight into the tank.

I've kept a lot of sw tanks before so I know bout cycling. I guess I'll add part of a mysis shrimp cube to cycle it.
