I've planted a couple bulbs which started growing in my 10g. Right now I have a 50/50 zoomeds 15w bulb (6500k/420 actinic) over the tank and was wondering if it would be better to keep that bulb in or put the generic bulb that came with it in instead (from the $50 walmart tank kit.)

I will be getting new lighting in about 3 weeks but just wanted to know which would be best for now...

I believe the bulb that came with the kit will be an incandescant bulb, in which case go with the 50/50

you'll still have more light if you only take into consideration the 6500k half of the bulb.

I got the "deluxe" kit, so it came with stock 15w fluorescent lighting. Maybe someone knows what temp the light is??? Also, two of the bulbs are about 2" tall already, I know that I should add something to the tank to help them grow but I'm not really sure at all what to add for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go with the stock then.. the temperature of the light is more about how things look to you..

After some searching I found out that the Wal-Mart bulb is made by All-Glass Aquarium and has a color temp of 8000k. I'll be using that now instead.

Any suggestions on nutrients?
