Same here Lunchbox, that's why my first reply was...."ya think?" Anybody who would look at that tank would be able to see that there are too many fish in it. Even if they are still small.
im surprised your oscars havent jumped out because they're too crowded yet!... b ig tanks are unfortunately really expensive aswell

Just a simple answer is good enough. Some people are not aware of how big some fish can get. Oscars do get very big, but at the same time they can look like nice little fish when they are juveniles. Fish stores just want to sell the fish so they won't tell you that the fish will out grow the tank. I can go to the LFS and say I want 3 Bala Sharks. They won't stop me and ask how big my tank is, they just put them in a bag and send me on my merry way. So anyway.. Oscars can get to be more than 14" and will quickly out grow your 10 gallon. 5 of them will need a 200 gallon tank.
that's kind of a broad generalization (my LFS usually asks if you're buying anything that will get to over 2"), but yeah, more often than not that is the case.Web Gazelle said:
