wel here it is 12:34 inthe gd morning and here i am in the basement with a shopvac sucking up the 90 mfn gallons of water that are on my floor. this is already not a good day
sorry!! How are the fish? Tell us more. Need any helpful suguestions? Rubeermade tubs, trashcans, drink pitchers can hold them temporarily if they are not "sleeping with the fishes"
i think thats every aquarium keepers worst nightmare... the leaking tank! it happened to my boss. i scored a whole heap of guppies and neons the next day lol!
what did you have in there? are they ok? is it fixable with a little silicon?
it was a used tank, only had it full for a day. No fish in it yet, so at least i didn't lose any. it looks like the seals just let out on it, it had held water for fine for a day, i don't know.
Sigh...the used tank risk. I'm not sure I will ever take that challenge.
Hope everything works out for you. At least it's in the basement and you're prepared with the shop vac. Plus you didn't lose any fish. So it could be worse I guess. But still, I feel for you.
ok so all of the laying water is up i just have to sit here and watch the carpet dry now, and once it is dry i have to shampoo it ....yay me. so what do you guys think, fix it and try it again or scrap it and save for another?
WEeeellllllll..........hhhmmmmmmm.......I once resiliconed a 10 gallon tank that had a leak. Worked too and I'm still using it...holds water great !
But......man ! During the process of scraping out the old silicone and trying to breath while applying the new...not to mention the mess all over my hands...yadayadayada....I swore I would NEVER do that again ! LOL........
However.......if I was given a large 90gallon tank for free...and it had a leak......I might...just MIGHT at least TRY to fix it......but I would DEFINITELY have it set up in the basement !!!
