12 Volt Man's New Fishroom Thread

Found this thread only today. Very nice 150g setup, I also like the 65g with archers. You mentioned keeping disucs and I have been looking into setting up/changing over a tank to get some. So, comparing discus to other fish that you have kept are they that much more demanding?

keeping discus is easy provided you give them what they require to thrive:

-84 or 85 degree water
-2 to 3 water changes per week ( I used to do monday, friday and it worked fine)
-keep a group of no less than 4 in a 50+ gallon tank. they need room since they always have a distinct pecking order, and if not, the weakest fish never gets away from the aggression
-good food (including Hikari frozen blood worms and Tetra Colour Bits :))
-good water quality (which is easy if you don't overfeed and do the regular water changes)

I used to feed mine twice per day.

Terrific looking syno.
