the barbs were so small you could barely see them LOL

great pictures and tanks. Big fish aren't really my thing. I appreciate their beauty, just not in my tanks. I keep thinking of all the wonderful large schools of small fish that could go in there with all sorts of plants. The intake valves from the filters and the heaters glow in that lighting. Looks cool. As far as why you don't think you can use driftwood I get it, but I have a few pieces that are like chunks of wood that are very smooth and not jagged or pointed at all. Maybe you could try using a piece or two that are like that.

I have discovered a handy fix to the redhook feeding problem: hand feeding. problem is, now the barbs come up and take food too, which results in a big splash and mess lol

are the barbs picking on the redhooks now too? I saw the one had torn up finnage. Or is that still the clowns?

not that I have seen. the barbs tend to push each other around a bit but not the redhooks. I know some have some tattered fins still, and its either not healed properly from the loaches (possible since they are being outcompeted for food), or the redhooks are nipping each other when I'm not watching..hard to say..

I know for sure the loaches were nipping them because I saw that one with my own eyes..they are still in the quarentine tank.
