yeah, the two larger ones are 6" total length already.
they don't look like it against the backdrop of a 72" long x 29" tall tank, but they are. I figure when I got them they must have been around 1.5" total length..they were pretty little..
what substrate do you use in the tank? looks like black gravel. i heard those detiorate over time in water. how do you like your sand or gravel though?
I have been using it for a few years now in other tanks and it has held up okay. over time, the the odd peice will chip/fade a bit, but its not bad. still a nice dark bottom without having to use sand..
I have heard that other brands chip off very quickly, but the Estes brand seems to hold up okay
I wanted a black substrate, but I didn't want something too fine. this was really my only option for a black substrate that had a gravel consistency.

you guys are goona hate me but i bought a chinese pump! it was a third of the cost of the equivelent ehiem and i just couldnt hide from those numbers!!!! I gotta sunsun 1500lph with 11w uv for 55 sheets! sweet
