my eupterus is about 6 inches long.
he is old now (9 years) and has an eye problem on his left side. Over the last 2 years, his pupil has been getting smaller.- you can see it in the bottom pic.
but he doesn't appear to have any vision problems as a result
wow, old fish... good to see i may be able to have mine for many more years 8). I think its a really interesting fish, i actually purchased it from a LFS a while ago, not knowing much about it and i still to this day dont know much about it.
I just keep it in pretty much middle of the road water...
ph-almost always neutral or very close, and moderate hardness... and i've had good success really.
Are they nocturnal, because mine seems to do much of his roaming at night, and just sorta lays around in a tube or by a plant base during the day.

my eupterus and notatus are always out and about swimming during the day, but the decorus and flav. cat hide all day, only coming out to eat..
syno. multipunctatus is one species I have never really kept.
I bought one a few years ago, and I found him on the floor a few days after I bought it. How he jumped out of my tank I'll never know..
go figure...
I have never picked up another one.
