Gradually working my way to a tank like this. Anything special you've done with diet/temp to bring out the coloring in the boesemani like that? I have one that is more mature but has never had impressive coloring, especially the blue head end....though I've just started with live plants and trying to put a little more vegetarian type food in the tank. The turquoise and red irian I have stand out great already, and just added celebes and threadfin a couple weeks ago.

This food seems to do a great job brightening the colors on my fish, and especially my cherry shrimp. It comes in pellets, too:

Beautiful tank, by the way! And a gorgeous cabinet, what a talented woodworker :)

Also, I love the colors of your walls...I have two accent walls in similar shades of brown, wish I had the energy to paint the whole house.

I have Omega One brand in myesis shrimp and tubefix worms but not in flakes or pellets....Wardley for flakes and Aqueon for pellets...will have to pick some of that up

My staple food is New Life Spectrum sinking pellets. They also get frozen brine, frozen blood worms, freeze dried mysis shrimp, freeze dried tubiflex, etc. Temp is 78*.

My experience with Boesemani's is that you need you start with good stock. The ones I have now showed the bright orange/deep blue coloring at just over an inch. From what I have seen, the ones that are yellow/silver blue will always be that color.

Somewhat became a moot question as I went out today after the lights turned on and the large Boesemani was upside down...all the other fish look fine, hmm......
