125gal finally up and running!!

That's a rather clever trick. I wouldn't have guessed. :-P (then again, I'm kinda braindead... I haven't slept much in the last few days... been kinda bummed since my gf and I broke up...)

hey i think your heaters are below the waterline i can see drawn on it. I have a 200 watt jaeger or however it's spelt and i keep the blue part above the water at the line like it says ...

Yeah I've always wondered why it says "fully submersable" though, and then has that line??? I've seen lots of heaters totally underwater, even in "professional" tanks in zoos. Not too sure on this one, but yeah it's best to follow instructions, right??

Great tank! BTW, I've had my EJ's fully underwater for over 6 years with no problems. :)

if its fully submursible, it's able to be completely under water. they have the line to indicate that the heater HAS to be covered up to that point at LEAST. if the water gets below that line, you have to unplug the heater to keep it from exploding or something.

AH!!! I get it!! It HAS to be up to that line atleast!!! Derrrrr!! :duh:

Thanks guys! Here's an update. Even though I just filled and decorated the tank yesterday, I did a quick test on the water param. I started with 5 ppm with ammonia and 0 nitrites yesterday. Now I am reading 2 ppm and 2ppm of nitrite. Guess that driftwood had a bunch of bacteria on it. Still 0 nirates though. Looks like it's coming along just fine. Can't wait to add my fish!! :D

I think it looks good without plants.

And 200 lbs. of rock makes up the floor of the tank. I then covered the rock with sand. This was done so when my RD digs, He wouldn't expose a glass or eggcrate bottom. Thought it would add a more realistic environment.

you could have used thinner rock like slate instead. it would weigh a lot less and take up less space.
