Ok, so I decided not to breed Mollies after all. Not the right set up. Soooo I now have a 10-14 gallon tank that I can use. I will be starting with the 14 gallon and may have to surrender it to my roommate at some point bc it is hers. But for now I get to use it. I discovered GloFish and decided that I want to get those. How many fish can I have in a 14 gallon tank? Would like 4 or 5 glo fish and one or two other fish be ok with a snail and perhaps 2 dwarf frogs? How many glofish (they are a type of zebrafish) can I have in a 14 gallon tank?

Hello, I read in my fish book that "A good rule of thumb is one (fish) per 10 gallons of water....(S)ome people follow the rule of 3 gallons of water for each inch of fish, not including the tail" - Richar E. Hess
I don't know anything about frogs, are you sure they won't eat them?
Oh and be sure to quarantine your fish, ideally a month, but at minimum 1 to 2 weeks.
I did not quarantine a new fish and when introduced to my other guy the problems broke out, we had tail rot, parasites, "fun stuff" and it took me a while to straighten out the tank. Have you checked to make sure the water conditions of the fish and the snails and the frogs are compatible with each other?
Oh and just in case, if you are placing plants in the tank, they too need to be quarantined. I usually rinse my plants off before adding them to the tank, and sometimes that is not good enough, it might take a while for them to show parasites or baby snails. And ideally having the tank half full then adding plants is a lot easier then adding plants to a full tank of water.
Do you use any water additives such as API's Stress Coat and Stress Zyme?
Hope this helps, good luck with your tank :)

What filter are you using for your tank? I had my 75 gal. cycling for a month before moving my fish over. I have dealt with sick tank syndrome and vowed never to go through that again. I use Fluvals for my tanks and use a carbon media, ammonia media, bio media, and trying Nitrate media. Using those media has significantly reduced, well actually took care of any issues since then. But it helps to cycle your tank first. Use Stress Zyme to get the good bacteria growing, once that is started it is usually all good from there. I personally have issues with keeping my pH in line as well as salinity after a tank change. It is 3 weeks for the Stress Zyme to do its job then it is just routine maintenance when you clean out the tank.

Well the snail, glofish, and frogs can all be in the same tank! Woot woot! Now I would like to get one or two more smallish-medium fish with some really pretty colors. Maybe some blue. I want 3 glofish (they are pretty little), and one, maybe two is it will not be too many, other fish. I got the tank all set up deco wise, I just need to fill it, N-cycle it, get a moss ball in there, and start adding fish! :D
