Well i finally emptied out my bio cube today and cleaned everything up (including my mess off a room).

Was looking at all the equipment i have.. which is actually everything.. including lights, heater, reefkeeper, sand, protien skimmer for BC, and even a AC fuge i can use for keeping starfish

So heres whats gonna happen. Going to make it a species tank, with none other then my favorites on earth the harlequin shrimp. no fish or corals will be in this tank. just the harlequins rock, and a big ball of fresh cheato.

Ill keep starfish in the fuge that way i can constantly feed them and with no fish or corals they can eat and be as messy as they would like to be without harming anything. Keeping them alive longer then 6 monthes in the goal here and with nothing else in the tank to sketch them out and good water quality i think i can meet my goal. Could care less if they breed

need to find a way to get the powerbrites positioned over the tank. think i have an idea involving PVC, once i figure it out its as simple as buy live rock and finding healthy harlequin pair

Greatest part about all of this.. not a single thing from my big tank will be used and nothing will be transferred.. LIKE *$*$*$* DINO.

Some pics the equipment(and of my little work shelf.. which you shouldve seen before *disgusting*), ill update when i get the tank set back up within the next week or so.. we all know im a lazy guy who takes his sweet time.

I swear those two look like they are planning their attack.

My buddy with the 240G tank only has 1 harlequin in it to keep the asterina starfish population down.. it is amazing how 1 little shrimp can eat so much food. I keep telling him to get 2 to try and have them mate up but he thinks 2 will wipe out his food source and he doesn't want to have to feed stars to them himself.

That said.. A mated pair in a 14G with regular chocolate chip starfish feedings (1-2x a month) and a good supply of asterinas will be really cool. ;)

10 gallons^ they dont need much room! but you do need to know how to handle them

dude that video just displays so much of how strong they are. The most awesome thing about these guys is they arent like other shrimps. they will go right up to the front of the glass and just stare at you. they look just like mickey mouse... it makes me miss mine so much.

I hope to find a nice/healthy mated pair on Dr. Fosters and smith. Besides the actual cost of them, the only expense out of my pocket is like 7 pounds of rock.

i also dont mind feeding them myself seeing as though i wont have a huge population

Gonna do the smart thing and buy a skimmer for my big tank and a alk dosing kit as well. time to tackle the dino once and for all then worry about these little guys. i want aces coral back in my tank :(

Good call. Not to rekindle your harlequin fixation but my LFS just got in a pair and one is almost totally pink (instead of the white) with blue highlights. Never saw one like this and thought of your build. When the time is right, they'll be a pair for you.

haha the pink one was the female i believe
