This is my first tank and it's still cycling. I'm fishy cycling, I'm jobless and near broke so I can devote alot of time keeping the toxins down to a minimum. Currently I have 2 longfined rosy barbs. I started out with a Water sprite, some Vallis, bit of Java fern and some hornwort. The watersprite looked terrible and started to get some algae or mold or something on it. It was for the better I took it out. I found some Java moss at long last and added it. Then took half of it for another tank.

The ultimate goal will be to have 5 Rosy Barbs, 3 neon ones and the 2 longfined ones, I hope the shorter finned ones don't outswim and nip to much on the longer finned ones. As well as 5-6 White Cloud Mountain Minnows. Oh and there's a few ghost shrimp hangng out.

looks like a nice start. Watch your water very carefully during the cycle. A black or navy background would pop your fish out visually.

The ammonia is down to 0 and I'm starting to get nitrites, hopefuly it won't be more than another week or 2. It's like day 14 or 15 now. I probably should get a background, but then I couldn't see the shrimp hiding in the java moss.

I have always liked rosy barbs when I see them at the local lfs. I like the shape of that tank also, I am a fan of tall tanks.

honestly rosy barbs prefer long tanks rather then short.
