150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

k im still adding things up with t-5 and your tank but heres a lil fast addition with PC lighting.. Ahsupply ofcourse since if you have coralife you will need to have fans in the canopy so that the heat doesnt build up. And i think for coralife they dont suggest you add the strips into the canopy

8x55w ahsupply kit
$260 without bulbs + $144 bulbs = $404 for 2.9333333 wpg (rule doesnt apply)

4x96w + 2x55w ahsupply kit
$284 w/o bulbs + $152 bulbs = $436 for 3.2933333 wpg (rule doesnt apply)

im going with ahsupply because their reflectors are the best!!

I do not trust what I have seen with Compact Fluorescent’s and what they can handle with really deep tanks. I have not personally worked with T-5's but if you look at the AGA contest's and such when they have really big tanks the two kind of lights you see used are either T-5's or Metal Halide. Since I know you do not like MH's due to the heat I would think T-5's would be your other option. I know that compacts have trouble getting light to anything more than 24, they are great for anything under 100 Gal. but once you get to some depth and penetration you need more intense light.

I will admit that the even for the cost with that setup you will get everything you will want from plants.
