150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

I love the hagen GLO lighting, but I have been reluctant to get them because Hagen is discontinuing them. they are on sale at all the LFS's in my area as a result. you can get them at half price right now..

just a heads up. I would imagine they are coming out with something to replace them with, because their bulbs do not fit in other T-5 strips because they make their bulbs an inch shorter than everyone else.

eg. a 48" strip normally takes a 48" bulb.

the hagen glo takes their own 47" or 46" (I can't remember which) only...they were sneaky...

I did not know they were being D/C that really ______ me off LOL. I use a mix of Hagen Life-Glo and Power-Glo bulbs that are packaged as their 48" (or 24"). If they D/C these bulbs I am going to be really unhappy :headshake2:

I was told this by the LFS where I used to work so I know they are not just blowing hot air.

the fact that competing pets stores in my area are ALL putting them on cheap right now corroborates what my LFS said.

I am going to ask the guys where I used to work to find out more about what is going on..

I am going to check something next time I am in.

don't panic just yet. it could be that only the SINGLE versions of these strips are discontinued...

all of them are available as singles or doubles and i doubt many people buy the singles...

I might be going in to the LFS tonight and I will ask about what is happening. there is a big table at my LFS right now with a bunch of them on clearance..

First off, thanks very much Vader for going to all the trouble of taking the helmet off and snapping the pics (great, great looking tank BTW)!

I haven't showed the topless pics to the Mrs. yet (may invite her to have a cocktail first - lol), but I already know that the canopy is a must (and so is the cherry).
