150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

I agree its an easy spreader and looks nice when bubbles, but to keep it as a lawn in a tank this big and with co2/ferts this high it will be ridiculous lol He would need to trim it every week so it does not rot on the bottom and float + getting all the loose trimmings out the tank.. wasnt for me

edit: the light is actually 4 units. Each one is 2x54 and cost is $88 for each. Add 2 on one side 2 on the other and you are set

He is speaking the truth about the ric. But if you are up to it. TBH I would not be. This is why my tank is still full of Java Ferns :)

But concerning the lights I think T-5's would be your best bet. If you are willing to spend some time you might even be able to save a buck by making your own ballast and connecting it to your hood. That way you can get the best of both worlds. Just be sure you know how to wield a drill and such, cause otherwise it might be a mess. (I haven't actually looked at the prices of T-5 Ballast’s so I could be blowing hot air up your ***, but what I have learned is as long as time isn't a factor, anything sold in a aquarium store can be made for a fraction of the price.)
