What's the lowdown on painting the back of the tank black? (It's just about time!)

Krylon fusion satin black paint? 2 or 3 thin coats? Any need to tape off the rest of the tank, or clean the glass with anything before painting?

Well, since you asked... I just did that part to my 100g. Just taped some trash bags at the ends to keep overspray off the side of the tank and shot it. Took one can. Went over it a total of about 4 times and a 5th to hit any spot I could still see light through.

Mind, that looks like a sweet spray job. I wish I had the time to do this when I set up my Tang tank and will do it for sure the next time I rip the tank down. It looks like it was a relatively simple project with huge benefits!

I cleaned mine with Windex glass cleaner, masked off the ends and top..then rolled three coats on with a fine napped roller.

Thanks a bunch Newbie - it's getting there. Should be painting the back of the tank (and Eheim parts) black this weekend - BTW thanks Mind and Mr. B.

I am off to Vegas for a few days next week - but when I get back it's ...
