150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

Pffff...I found some small imperfections....lol
The cut-outs in the back of the hood are not quite up to your usual standards if I might say so....hehehe.

With reference to the last two posts about pictures and the wife, you better hide them from your wife or risk trouble..

Glad you noticed Luc ... yes, it's true. I had to "freehand" cut those after the canopy and stand were finished (couldn't turn it upside down on the crown molding). Wasn't sure if we were using 3 canisters or 4 - I figured freehanding 3 cuts was better than flush-cutting 4 and leaving one blank. I believe they call that bean-counting!

BTW - the wife is "all in" now!

Amazingly, my wife saw what I did with the 20 gallon once I started getting serious about planted tanks and SHE suggested getting a larger one for the front room. Of course, when she said "larger one" she had no idea that I'd go for a 100 gallon hi tech setup, lol! No complaints from her so far though (knock on wood)! Just NEVER ask her to do a water change and you'll be fine!

They see your enthusiasm and "buy in" to the idea! Don't you love it?

Good to hear your wife is all in...important support, can't do without the other half understanding it and appreciating it. Same here, though I have to restrain myself a bit not to get onto tank number 3 before I fix her a new kitchen, a baby-girl and some other stuff around the house....lol
Half joking here, but very lucky to have support from her. She 'accidently' brought me into Discus. I asked her to get some fish for me quite some time ago with only the directions that it had to be community fish that would not chase my neons and some other small critters.
Came home with a small blue diamond discus..I was always afraid of getting into it thinking my water would never be clean enough for them but it turned out that he had no problem at all.
Gave me a boost of confidence on my fishkeeping habits and standards...

Fantastic ... great to hear such a "success" story!

If anybody knows it's Vader! I love how you read into the "copy" part of this thread!

Seriously, Vader has been a great (actually phenomenal) help - but we all know that he is a Fluval guy!! No Eheims for Vader!

Yes, its true :D ... I've never even owned an Eheim so I'm of no use what-so-ever LOL. My 125 planted has a Fluval 205 powering the CO2/UV loop and an FX5 to do the heavy lifting (beast filtration).

Coy, at least you've isolated the leak. I know the OCS makes it hard but with time that little drip should seal with sediment (as mentioned). The view from "under the hood" is by far the cleanest look I have ever seen. Just ridiculous craftsmanship. The bar is way too high now.
