150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

I tried to read this all the way through and got lost when you were having your massive lights discussion. Just wanted to say it looks awesome :)

Thanks allot.... Your tank makes my yard/garden look like crap!

Seriously though, well, well done. I have never gone planted but this tank makes me think otherwise. The color of your stand and canopy is absolutly beautiful. I would stare at that tank for hours.

Thank you very much - I appreciate it!!

LOL - boy, I know what you mean.

All the discussion, however, did pay off. After all the research we ended up with the ability to easily go from the starter 160W to 240, then recently / finally up to the desired 400.

Here are a couple of updates ... thanks for looking!

What is yr secret to lush green plants? CO2? Iam using a seechem plant food and have upt my light hours to 10 per day, apart from a greening of the leaves there is very little growth!

It's all about Co2, a little ferts and lighting. Over the 150 I have 240 (1.6 wpg) watts of 6,700k with an 8 hour per day photoperiod; Co2 at about 3bps, on 1 hr before the lights and off 1 hour after. I dose w/ Pfertz a couple times a week - about 12 squirts of each (n, m, k, p) per dose w/ a little seachem iron and excel to boot.

Not being a big deal here - but, those pics just don't do the tank justice - it's wayyyyy bad in person!

Love those Orange Sissors. When the Redlines get up to their size it's going to be quite a sight. Always looking good sir.
