150g build from start to finish

As i haven't got the rest of the materials i need to finish the stand i decided to do some work on the tank and sump. So this weekend i have removed the overflows from the display tank, i had to do this as the previous owner had siliconed the flange nuts for the bulkheads to the inside of the tank and i couldn't reach them to remove them with the overflows in the way. I have also spent my time building the sump and will be testing it next weekend to make sure it's watertight.

Looks just about like mine turned out. It should do fine. I had to make a change to mine and I hope it works out. You did a mush neater job than I did.

I did have to make a baffle change and now the water goes under then over and then under. Like this. It may not work and than I have a problem... Tear everything down and re-do the sump.

That's an nice design and i hope it all works for you, tearing everything down and re-doing it would be a nightmare. Hopefully my sump will work out ok but i guess i won't be able to tell until i get the display tank on the stand and test it all.

Thanks :)

That it would be. I measured everything 3 or 4 times to make sure I had the room and when it was all said and done, the first baffle was 1/4" too narrow for the skimmer to fit. Really ticked me off. Here's the sump set up now. See how the baffles are installed now.

Looks a sweet setup, i was just reading through your bubble traps thread and am now worried about my design but i'm not going to make any rash decisions until i have tested it.

Like I said, I made mine like yours and then had to make the change otherwise it would have been just about the same. I did cut the return pump glass down to about half way and then put the egg create on top to keep any macro algae I may want to put down there later on. Right now I think all I'll add is some live rock.

Go with what you've got as long as everything fits.

Is that Reactor in the middle just for pictures sake or is that where you plan on putting it? I think the front left corner of the glass in the first chamber would be the best place to put it, which was probably your plan anyway as long as it doesn't get in the way of changing out the filter sock, which it may.
