150g Mbuna - Build Thread

I wouldn't but if you want to feel a little safer you can actually cut the plastic rim and silicone a thick glass brace across the top..

I have a friend who has built his own 92gal this way but he put on a glass brace on each end and doubled the middle glass brace pretty clever this dude is..

On that size tank the 1/4" wouldn't bother me. What's the thickness of the glass panels?

Tank stand looks awesome so far M. Boona! I'm no carpenter, my stuff is pretty plain... no lights in the canopy so it's just a box with some trim. That's going to be one sweet Mbuna setup.

That's kind of what we were thinking. The glass is 5/8" thick.

Thank you. Trust me, we're no carpenters either! I think the stand and canopy look better in the pictures, in person you can see the imperfections. But overall we're pretty happy with it.

Thank you everyone for the reassurance about the glass bowing and your kind compliments! We're going to see what we can do today and hopefully have an update late this evening.

Oh, BTW - the tank sat overnight and no leaks which is a very nice relief! :dance2:
