18 & 55 gallon planted build thread

is your anubia buried? you don't want to do that. the rhizome will start to rot. that's why most people attach them to driftwood or rock

You can bury just the roots and not the rhizome and all will be well with the plant. But if you're tying it to drift wood tomorrow then you'll be fine for now.

Yeah tomorrow I'm supposed to pick up some driftwood from a local guy, but if no I have a piece of driftwood in the tank, and I'll use fishing line to hold it down until it anchors itself.

Ok so I moved the Anubia and attached it to a 8" high piece of driftwood I already had, it looks great now. Water is cloudy from covering the base of the driftwood in the sand. Once it clears up it will look so good on it. Also m co2 is starting to release into the tank, I set the diffuser under the spray bar of my Jebao 912 Canister filter, so it should distribute through the tank nicely.

More rummies!!!!! :D

Update for ya lol. Today I got glass canopy tops for the tank, new piece of driftwood, 2 more Amazon Sword Plants, and did some new work to my co2 system.

New driftwood with Amazon Sword planted in it, its in the middle of the pic, and new glass canopy hoods on the tank.

and did some upgrades to my DIY co2 system.

Picked up a Topfin 30 powerhead, gravel vac siphon, suction cups, and hook it up with my co2

Drilled out the top of the siphon to fit the powerhead intake

Drilled out the holes for the suction cups

Attached everything together

Put it into the tank corner and ran the diffuser under it, so the co2 will distribute into the tank and towards the plants

Runs smoothly and now I don't lose much of my co2 as the powerhead impeller breaks it up a bit, and puts it into the tank.
