I have a couple of questions.
How much Rock and sand do you think I should have in my tank?
The only filter I have is a magnum 350 with uv on it and I have 1 powerhead that is 295 gal per hour.(i have another one but its pushing the water so much with just one i didn't put it in.)
My lights is coral life plus dual compact fluorescent with moonlight 72”.

Rock...you should be aiming at 1 - 1.5lbs per gallon...

Sand...Depends on how deep you want to have the sand be really...Post the dimentions of the tank and will work out how much you need for 1 - 2 inches deep..

You will not need a filter as the live rock woth provide the mechanical filtration. However, you can use it without any media and utilise it for extra circulation and also the UV when its needed..

Depending on what your gonna keep in the tank depends on how much flow you need..You need to be looking a bear minimum of 10 x turnover per hour for fish and live rock, but if your looking at a Reef, you need to be aiming for about 25 to 30x turnover per hour...

Not sure on the wattage your lights are..that again, will depend on what your having in the tank..It may only be good enough for just fish and may find that you will need to upgrade if you want to keep corals...

my light is 384 watt (4-96 watt)
moon light (5-3/4 watt)
Front linear strip 10,000 ko
rear strip Actinic blue

My tank mesurement are 72 inch long 12 inch wide and 31 inch high.

I have another question to I dont think I have enough rock in my tank most of the rock came off the beach. I have a couple of live peaces in there.
I just have them sitting on top of each other i dont have them glued or any thing together should I leave them like that. I really dont want to take my tank down to redo the rock .
I have 3 fish and 2 different anenome's. And every thing is at 0 and ph 8.2.

as long as the rock is reef safe and you have some actual live rock in there, it should be fine...But, you do need to have 1 - 1.5lbs per gallon to enable the rock to be adequate for the filtration...

As long as the rock is stable in the tank, you dont really to glue or put rods through them...just simulate a fish knocking on the rocks with your finger and see how stable it all is...

tank params sound great...what is your calcium and alk water test results?

Niko
