Ive been keeping discus for about 4-5 years. My suggestion would be to do the opposite I did, and research as much as u can. Look for water quality, tank setup, tank mates, and feeding. Also, filtration to keep the water as healthy as possible. They are a lot of work, but like an hobby/obsession it is usually worth it. If u have the patience and dedication they are fairly simple to keep. I personally love keeping them, and once I started they became my true obsession. Good luck!:read:
 
I have been doing some research and I have read several times how delicate the Discus are. My main hurdle right now is trying to sell my wife on the initial purchase of the fish. She is used to the $2.99 mollies, she thinks a $7.99 Cichlid is too much for a fish. So do you see my dilemma here?:thud: :argue: :thud:

Of course I understand. What i did was take my wife to see these fish in person. That usually works, other than that ur on ur own on that one. I consider myself very lucky because my wife enjoys them as much as I do, and she doesnt have to do any of the work-just watch.
 
Can you give us some updated photos?
 
This is just a really hard tank to get an overall picture, but Im trying. Give me a few minutes(I gots lots o pics).
