180g Update *56k warning*

I was getting tired of looking at the plain 180. It finished cycling in two weeks thanks to all the seeding I did. But anyways, I picked up a few rocks and some plants to make it more presentable. I'll add more plants later (and remove those lame glow in the dark ones) but let me know what you think for now:

I got these two blue/green rocks because I thought they looked pretty cool (kind of remind me of kryptonite) they're probably chunks of aquarium glass, but I still like em. And at $15 each, they're just a bit pricey. The brown one was under $10. I hope it doesn't have any metals or anything in it because of it's red orange color.

Since you have such a big tank, how about something large for the fish to hide in? A cave, etc. It would help make the tank look a little more full and give your fish somewhere to hide out! By the way I'm jealous, that is the size tank I am looking to get, just everyone is a good 3-4 hours away when I find a good deal! I'm getting tired of waiting though, I think a small road trip is in my future!

P.S. I have bought some neat fake plants from www.drsfostersmith.com and www.bigalsonline.com The tall plants they sell are much cheaper than what I could find at stores in my area!

My thoughts exactly bawlsy TDi. I do plan on getting a lot more to fill in the sides, but I'd like to leave the middle relatively open, with a few caves and more driftwood.

Since you have such a big tank, how about something large for the fish to hide in? A cave, etc. It would help make the tank look a little more full and give your fish somewhere to hide out!

The large piece of driftwood is plenty of room for the fish that like to hide. All the others prefer the open space. But I will add more caves.

the GT, and the FH)

Thanks Nuriel. I've had it for 2 months now, and it just keeps looking better and better!

Yeah, I wish I could keep those two forever but it's just not conceivable. The thing that ticks me is that even when I do take them back to the LFS, there's no guarantee that the person who buys them will take good care of them and give them an appropriate home.

The red plant off to the left (I think it's supposed to be purple cabomba) was the largest plant at my LFS. If I could find some over 24" that would be cool. The pearl gourami is pretty happy in there for the time being (it's a male, and has cool extentions on it's anal fin).

All the fish in this tank (except the bichirs, the loriicades, the gouramis, and the severum) will be taken to my LFS soon, or relocated to a new tank at my Grandmothers house. Even though I've grown attached to my cichlids, I decided to make the 180g a peaceful community. I already have most of the livestock growing out in my 10g's and they're ready for their new home.
