i always like the way that cichlids look and was wondering what kind of cichlids i can put in a 10 gal, there are no other fish in the tank.

thanks

:hi:
I would say rams, but I am not compleatly sure. They might need a min. of 20g..

If you had a 20 long, a pair or rams might be nice. I wouldn't even consider keyholes or shellies for a 10 gal.

Neolamprologus brevis will do great in a 10 gallon tank. A pair (who share the same shell so you can often easily find a pair at the LFS) are ideal for your tank. Use aragonite/crushed coral for the substrate to keep the pH/KH up and you're good.

N. multifasciatus would also work, but they breed like bunnies so you'd need to sell/give them away fairly soon. Get 4 and you'll likely have one breeding pair.

Shellies are small shell dwelling cichlids from Lake Tanganyika. I listed two species in the above post. They essentially use snail shells instead of caves for hiding/breeding spots.

Neat little fish.

i say keyholes would be good, there hardy and pretty

Sorry it took me so long to get back. The shellies sure do seems cool and they're neat looking.

Thanks for all your good suggestion.
