1st REAL attempt at a planted tank

Thanks so much! I really do enjoy watching the tank. I am gonna do some swapping soonish I am gonna pick up some other plants and gift my mom the sword ( she has a 55g) .
Our water is nice and stable. Consistently testing at 0-0-.5 this was a pretty easy upgrade from a 5gallon that was housing the betta for 3 years. It’s been over a month since that seeded upgrade. Consistently testing good. I have been slowly adding the fish too. I am happy to hear I can house more Pygmy cory’s.
the lfs I use is I bit more spending than the chain stores. So my “budget sweet spot” is 3 more for now. That would bring them to 6 for now.
6 will be a good number, you will see much, much better behavior from them as they play together. :)

I would watch the sword even in a 65g tank, I had one in a 90 gallon aquarium, and it took over more than half of it. also be wary of the roots too they will keep growing even if you trim the leaves.

Also watch the banana plants, it's a lily, so if you don't want a lot of light shaded from the aquarium, then pinch off the pad runners when they appear. before your tank is plunged into darkness.

And once all this quarantine stuff is over, try to find an aquarium, or aquarium plant club around, they can be a great resource for help, folks to talk to about your hobby, and often cheap plants and fish. There's a short list available on the AGA website https://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/links.html, I'm a member of a couple of the clubs on there, and also of the AGA itself.

Otherwise, ask questions, read, take pictures, share it all :)

That’s what I was thinking :) ty
I have emailed the shop and I am gonna run out for essentials this afternoon ( luckily I need milk and a few groceries so this can happen today ;) )

I'm a huge fan of actually being a member of an aquarium society on top of forums, YouTube, Facebook and whatever.

It's a totally different feeling, and there's a lot of experience that you wouldn't see or benefit from otherwise.

Well, The fish shop had 4 of them in the tank. And I didn’t have the heart to leave it there alone so I brought home 4.
I don’t currently have a qt tank anymore so they are right in the tank ( always had good luck with the small store I purchased from) so fingers crossed no problems.
I AM SO HAPPY to see an actual happy little group.
I am looking forward to reading and learning. I would happily take links or reading material you feel is a must Thanks again.

If we want links relating to aquariums

2 of my favorite favorite plant people talking a bit... Ignore the echoing at the beginning.

Alex and Jen are great people... And we might learn something.
