2.5 gallon "soon to be" reef

long needed update, just got some more stuff today :) check it out, got two more peices of live rock and another peice of coral, button coral, has 5 polyps a nice red feather duster on the buttom, a little bubble tip, and an anemone of some sort, one of my peices of live rock has at least 5 quarter inch brittle stars, i thought that was cool and what looks like the beginning of some brain coral, cant get a good pic but we shall see

let me know what you think :)

im debating on wether or not to take the stingray filter out, all is is a bio filter but bit provides current so i think its good in there, any opinions? i might just try to cover it with live rock eventually

For such a small tank why not buy a little 15g HOB filter? ANY HOB works better than a stingray, and the HOB intake tube is much easier to conceal.

Not a good idea to leave a HOB filter in direct sun though. bakes the goodies inside pretty well....

EDIT: For the lighting, buy a nice big terrarium light and stick a little CFL bulb in it. should work fine, but it might not look so pretty

i actually did get a light, should of said that :) and just thinking about water flow, i guess i could just get the little hob and not carbon filter it and let the live rock do it job and just have if for water flow?

as far as the anemone is it going to be a neusance or what?

I wouldn't nuke the apstatiain such a small aquarium, could cause major swings in the aquarium at that size. I would just watch it and make sure they don't take over the aquarium.
Dosn't the caulk stuff used to kill them contain a lot of calcium? wouldn't it mess with the calcium level?
Si i guess what i would do is just watch it and have fun with it. Who would not want a little anenome in there aquarium.

guess ill see what i can do to take it out, could i juse use a pair of tweezers? ill have to post some other pics of what im not sure but might be the same thing

thanks for the help

i have a peppermint shrimp, only inhabitant besides a snail and those 5 baby starfish, and LOTS AND LOTS of copepods, shall i let it go a week or so and see what he does to it? i change half the water once every 4 or 5 days so seems like if anything fluctuates it should be fine after i change water

not sure, guess ill play it by ear and keep an eye out for any problems :) hopefully none
