I have a 2.5g mini bowfront tank that i would like to keep something in but i dont really want a betta or shrimp so i was thinking about snail(s) but i need suggestions. Now i dont know if i will be able to keep more than one but if so that would be awesome and if i can house more than one i would like to only have one of each species to give some variety

so any suggestions for snails would be greatly appreciated along with how to care for that specific snail

2.5 would be perfect for snails :)
Depends which snail he is going to choose. There are many apple snails that will absolutely not fit well in a 2.5g particularly Pomacea canaliculata. These snails reach baseball size and are heavy poo machines, something a 2.5g will be unable to handle.

you could keep a bridgesii/diffusa snail in there comfortably. I think if you have more than one you would find it difficul to keep the parameters stable though. Is there anything in particular you are interested in?

nope nothing in particular just looking for something to put in the tank to look at but dont really want a betta.

and do you guys really think 2 snails could mess with water chemistry that much to make it unstable even if it was somewhat planted

There are certain smaller species of killifish that would work in there.. you could grab a sexed pair for $10-15, and put any eggs/fry into a critter keeper w/ a sponge filter & java moss

ill go with your expertise jinkz and keep an eye out for a bridgesii or difussa both on here and at my LFS

and since i can only have the one snail would a few ghost shrimp be ok in there with him?

i would recommend algae shrimp (amano shrimp) as they are awesome cleaners. ghost shrimps don't contribute as much to cleaning, but they're neat just because they're see-thru. As for snails, i'm a huge fan of nerite snails. they live long and they aren't too bulky looking. many of my buddies have mystery snails too. they are much larger, but they add some color to the tank.

what kind of plants do you have?
