2.7 watts per gallon

I agree with what djlen said at the end of his post. Don't be afraid to try different types of plants. You probably won't be able to grow the most difficult/light demanding types but I bet you'll be surprised how many plants will do well with that lighting. Just make sure to keep CO2 and nutrient levels where they need to be and you should be have tons of options.

2.7 is a lot of light :O

I have that over my 80 gallon adn light has never been an issue for the plants ive been able to find :O

The larger your tank (80, 90+ gallons, some say 125+), the less "WPG" you need to grow plants. The smaller the tank (10 gallons or less), the higher the required WPG to grow plants. www.rexgrigg.com/mlt.htm for a good read. =)

Well now I have two 6500K bulbs and two 8000K bulbs. I will be adding the CO2 this weekend and placed my order for plants at my LFS. We will soon see how it works. Thanks for all the info, you guys are great.

What kind of plants are/were you looking for? I have a nice assortment that I'm selling. Probably less than the $4-$5 each at your LFS.

Not exactly, it depends on the dimmensions of the tank. The WPG rule is only an estimate for light intensity.

I almost think my 10gallon with 2 wpg has more intensity than my 20 with 3wpg.
