So today I realized that I am down to 1 bangaii out of 3. I have a closed top aquarium and am certain that my Bangaiis have not escaped. I am left to believe that they have become a rather costly meal for my pink tip anenome. Do you think that is possible? Let me know what you all think.

Thanks

I'd be very surprised if it was your anemone, your mandarin is more likely for that scenario.

How much rock do you have? Are you 100% sure they're not just hiding and making whoopy behind the rocks. Mine like to keep themselves to themselves when they're "busy"!!!

I have 60 lbs of live rock, but it is set in the center of the tank so I can see the entire way around it. No sign of them at all. Would the mandarin do something to hurt them?

I think she means that the mandarin would be a more likely candidate for being eaten by the 'nem than 2 cardinals would.

Sorry, yes I did mean the Mandarin would be a more likely meal for the Nem rather than the cardinals. I really can't see your Cardinals being a meal for the Nem. Mandarins are covered in a toxic slime, but again, I can't see you Cardinals going for a Mandarin. I know that they're not ususally jumpers but If you have an open top, have you checked around the outside?

I am really struggling for suggestions here. Looking at your list of tankmates I can't see anything that would have a go at them. If it was just one Cardinal then I'd suggest they had been fighting, unless they were and were too evenly matched and both suffered.

I have searched around the tank (which has a cover) and have found nothing. I can not figure this out. They dissapeared one week apart, so it wasnt fighting and the 3 bangaiis were schooling at the pet shop and also once they got into the tank... hmmm. This just stumps me.

We are on 2 weeks this tuesday. So they didnt have a long run in the aquarium at all.

No, he seems to be fine. He is swimming about and eating during meal times, so I cant imagine he has anything wrong.
