That is my like setup. 1 (54w) 12000k and 1 (54w) blue actinic on a 75 gallon. I know it's not the best, but it's all i have. so....

I'm a beginner...are there any easy corals, mushrooms, or anything that I can keep? Give me some specific ideas so i can continue my research.
 
nobody? I was planning on doing a fowlr, which is what I have, but if this light will support something else then maybe I'll try my hand at it.
 
With just those two bulbs, it'll be hard to keep much of anything anywhere other than near the top of the tank. Before buying any corals, I'd consider adding at least another two 54w T5 HO, as it'll make things much easier and you wouldn't be quite so limited in your choices for lower light / beginner corals. If you're looking to progress and place more and more corals in the tank, look into having six 54w T5 HO with good individual reflectors.
 
I'm not looking into reef, as this is my first go at sw. The plan is still a fowlr tank. I was just wondering if my light could support anyything, but I guess not lol. Oh well lol.
 
try the mushrooms, theyll grow and reach thier lower limit of light when they start to strech up for light, there are some interesting variations patterns and colors and theyre pretty resistant to water conditions. if you have really tall rockwork you could try zoas too, get a little frag and try it out, although they are not nearly as resistant to water parameters and low light as mushrooms.
 
good to know. I'll look into mushrooms. since I'm still learning (as we all are) are there any specific varieties to look into? My tank inhabitants are:
2 tank-raised perculas
1 lawnmower blenny
1 firefish goby
3 emerald crabs and a couple small hermits.
 
You could get sponge, and a few other types of corals that don't need light and live off filter feeding.. You could also get feather dusters and other interesting stuff that dosn't require any light.
