I woke up this morning to 2 dead mollys. :thud: On the up side I have what I believe to be 8 babies. I was just wondering if mollys die after giving birth. The other thing is I am not sure if the babies are mollys.

Thats a toughy. Are there any other fish that might have spawned the babies?Or killed the "treat" to thier young? I don't think they die after giving birth. If i'm not mistaken, they are livebearers so the male would not be affected by the birth process.
No - it is not common for Mollies to die after giving birth. You need to do some investigating to determine why you lost two fish overnight - start by testing your water for ammonia, nitrites, & nitrate levels.
