ok i have finally got me a decent sized tank, but i dont know what to put in it its defanitly going to be a cichlid. i wanted midas but im thinking twice since i can only have one what iam looking for is something agresive. thats not going to hide all the time farily large and colorfull. i would like for it to be able to have a mate too. my girlfriend like the red festae on the cichlidscene website.i was thinking green or a red terror.but wont they be to big to have a pair in a 75 gallon. and that hatian fish looks good to.but like i said i want something colorful aggrisive and not easy to get sick and i would like to be able to have a mate.QUESTION 2. whats the diffrence if i buy my fish from petsmart or jeff rapps.i think he might have some nice stuff but its a fifty doller minuan order and i dont need that many fish. so what should i do cause i heard that petsmart fish have bad genes. thanks in advance

For question 1 i only have one suggestion. A johanni is colorful not really big but not small either(medium:)) I asked the guy that worked at the fish store about it and he said its been back to teh store many times for being too aggresive. I dont know about the second question.

Unless your petsmart near you is a bad one then there is nothing wrong with petsmart. I have seen several fish there that are just as good as any LFS and they sare normally cheaper. Like the other day I saw a 6 inch clown knife that was 5 bucks and if I went to a couple other stores near me, one that size would be around 20 bucks. You could probabley fit a pair of red terrors in a 75 but it just depends on the fish. You might would need a divider like one o f the ones with holes in it so the male could fertilize the eggs through it. Goodluck.

the red terrors would be ok for a while in a 75 if bought young but they would need a lot larger in a short time. i have bought fish from petsmart they are better than some fish store but if you have the money jeff rapps is the way to go. no only are the genes better but you can be assured the fish has been properly handled from day 1. hatian get very large 14"+ so 180 or bigger would be needed for just one. how about a carpinte pair? they are aggressive they stay small enough to be kept in your 75 and are colorful. here is a link to aquamojo's pair http://www.aquamojo.com/carpinte.html

How about green Aequidens rivulatus or green terror? A pair would be great in that tank and you could probably have a couple of smaller cichlids in there if you put in a small pile of rocks so the green terrors can't get them.

I like that long odd shape of the green terror and do like the tales of its aggrisiviness but are you sure i can have 2 and if so what kind of target fish.one more how hard is the malwia lake setup those re some very pretty fish too.

i hav had oscars they seem kinda boring and went through a bout of hith. i dont knowif i want african just would like to know how easy the setup is incase .but i have did a little reserch and am leaning towards a pair of green terros and some targets fish.the african sound nice but i might want to be convinceda lil more on them

ok iam gettig closer a and closer to gettig a pair of green terrors is it true that i have to have alot of males for the nuchel hump to devolp.and do red terror devolp the humps.

oh my now i have seen a picture of a frontsa those are some great looking fish it just so much to chose from what i really like are those humps.iam still open to suggestion whats going to be the pro and cons of keeping fronts are green terrors
