It is a proven fact that watching an aquarium relieves stress (this is why there are a lot of them in doctors' offices - no lie)

It's an educational hobby - you learn a lot just from keeping aquariums in a variety of areas like science and math.

You aren't doing something you shouldn't be doing if you are home tending to your tanks.

I'm sure I could come up with more!

Oh yes - it is teaching you responsibility which is important!
