1st question:

Do you really need to buy a stand with a 55 Gallon Tank. I have found a 55 for just over $100 but it doesn't come with a stand. A stand runs about $50 at wally world, so would a sturdy well made Dresser-Talking solid oak here- be able to provide enough support for a 55?

2nd Question:

Still looking around and thinking, what is a good price on a 125 Gallon tank?

As for good prices, it depends where you are and how lucky you are! I've seen top notch, perfect 180 gallon aquariums + stands + a lot of accessories for 250$ Canadian, but I've also seen a 50 gallon + stand for 300 $. So it's kinda like the stock market, be patient, and strike at what seems to be the best deal for the best aquarium!

A 55 gallon filled with water and 2" of substrate weighs around 640 pounds. Three guesses, and the first two don't count :)
