2 tanks, 1 wet/dry

I don't want to load you down with too much at once, but have you ever thought of trying this? http://www.bio-elite.com/waterbridge.htm

I seriously considered making one of those. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. But the clear PVC tube is difficult to find around here and my tanks are not at the same level. One is slightly higher than the other so the lower-level tank would constantly flood. The setup I have right now is basically the same principle. Water chemistry is the same in both tanks due to the shared wet/dry.

I didnt think I had to cycle it since it's sharing the wet/dry and it's been established already. Oh well, here we ago....back to the beginning!

If the filter is established then I agree, you wont have to cycle it. Sorry I missed that you had it up and running. ;)

That's what I thought too but for some reason ammonia and nitrites went up to .50 and .25.

You have to remember you are now filtering for 110g's and the turnover rate might be lacking, whats the flow rate? or the bacteria has not had a chance to multiply enough to deal with the added load. Any which way it sould not take long for those reading to go down, just be a little more zealous with your water changes if you have fish in there. ;)

The new added tank only has the wet/dry as a filter right now with a 350gph pond pump returning the water. The old tank has an AC500, Penguin 330, and a pump just like the one mentioned above returning water from the wet/dry. When you say "added load", do you mean water load or bioload? The bioload hasn't changed since I haven't added any fish, just moved them around. The water load has increased two-fold, of course. I just took a reading this morning and the ammonia went down to .25 from .50 and the nitrites went from .25 to .50
