I posted this on another forum too.
im going to re-cycle my tank(after what happened to my bettas im not taking chances :( ) and I found some species that I really like, here is my plan:
1 female german blue ram
8 rummy nose tetras
1 clown, rubberlip or bristle nose pleco

is this stocking ok?I can get all these fish very cheap:
clown plec 3.99
BN plec 3.50
rubberlip plec 2.99

GB ram 4.99
RN tetras 1.99

I know the ram and the rummy noses are ok together that is what i plan go getting. As far as the other one I am not sure about it. Maybe someone else will.

Not sure what happened to your betta, but there is really no need to recycle the tank. Just let the tank sit empty for a full 2 weeks. There are no pathogenic organisms out there that can survive that length of time without a host. Crank up the temp to around 85 just to be sure. Put a pinch of fish food in each day to feed the bacteria and you'll be fine.

not a full cycle..im changing gravel and taking 100% of the ater out, like a mini cycle.
I think the bettas had a bacterial infectiong..it killed alot of them before I noticed it.

if you fear tis bacterial and could spread to new fish, you mgiht as well take out the media and disinfect the filter too.

just take some media from one of your other tanks, you'd be going through a mini cycle anyway, and this way you know that all of the bacteria is gone.

as for stocking, it sounds good

yeah, let it sit around for about 2 weeks. the pathogens will expire in that time.

I don't think you need to recycle.

stock sounds fine.
