I'm curious as to why any fishstore would object to anyone writing down a list of the fish they have for sale.... :huh:

I would think if anyone asked, you could just say you want to do some research on the fish before choosing which ones to get.

Do I or do I not have to have some kind of bottom feeder in a 20g tank if I am going to have a mystery snail?

Almost every tank I see has some kind of bottom feeder. Is this mandatory?

No, a Mystery snail is fine. It's not mandatory at all. Just make sure you do regular vacuuming.
