You shouldn't have to do anything special with low-light plants anyway. Your 30watts is way more than I've got with my LED hoods. I bet those plants will perk up once the tank is settled with fish in it.

I'm approaching a month with my 29gal and I'm still not cycled.
IMO, I don't know if it's necessary to dose up to ~4ppm once your tank is well under way. I do know doing that with my 10gal turned out to be a problem. I would think ~1ppm would be enough ammo now.

Patty, so many thanks for your documented, fishless cycle by adding ammonia. Of all the threads I poured through over the last bunch of months, yours (with the API master kit pictures) was the best and most complete I've seen. You're going to have a great tank.
